The 2019 Book Blogger Awards ft. My Nominations And All The Love For Bloggers

Look….. in my last 18 months here I have met so many amazing people.

Like, really. You guys all work so hard and it comes across. I love blogging, but let’s be honest here, it’s not easy.

We produce content regularly (often weekly/more often), and if your posts are anything like mine, each one can take up to an hour or two just to write, then often half again of whatever time I spent writing (at least, sometimes more) formatting and making it look nice.

Oh, and did I mention panicking time when it’s the night before I should be posting and I forgot to format something? Must’ve slipped my mind.

Point is, we all work incredibly hard, and today is all about appreciating that. May @ Forever and Everly is bringing back the annual book blogger awards! Which gives everyone a chance to boost everyone else in the community… and I’ll be attempting it today. I love you all so much, and if I don’t mention you please know that I really wish I could’ve. (Also this was only open to book bloggers so if you aren’t that then I automatically can’t 😉 )

I also thought I should mention I won’t be including every category 😉 go to May’s post (linked above) for the full list

Oh, and the heading images were created by Olivia! I have not been able to design anything lately so I am now very kindly using hers. This intro’s long enough now….. let’s get started, shall we?

the official image

I’m sorry this is so long, but I have tried to link to the nomination post that they have made, but if you haven’t/hadn’t done one by the 11 or 12th of July I will have just linked to a recent post (again only before that date). I think I only linked to 2 nomination posts…..

Olivia @ Purely Olivia for this, always. I love her so much and I love her posts and I love everything about her and her blog. She has unique content (amazing content!)  and I love her blogging style so much…. I even asked to use her headers for this post. I just….. ahhhh I can’t. So pretty.

Sha and Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews. They produce quality content DAILY, and they somehow never post a similar thing??? (Not to each other, from prior days.) They are also both extremely involved in the community, and I love having super long chats with Sha especially. It’s also so cool that I can always tell who wrote the post????

(I also would’ve mentioned Paper Fury for this but, uh….. I mention her later. And I’m really trying to stick to one blogger/category!.)

Look, I’ve seen so many people talk about her for this one but May @ My 1st Chapter. She just loves YA so much and it comes across amazingly. She is also an amazing blogger!!! And always willing to fangirl about Six of Crows with me, which is a big factor in any friendship.

Oh, Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads by far. I know I can count on her for honest reviews and chances are that if she’s reviewed it badly, I won’t even give it a chance. I trust her reviews so much, and she always tries to review diverse books, meaning I get the best recs! Also, anyone who can come out with this many reviews is doing something right…. I can barely write one, let alone regularly producing them.

small sidenote: I was nominated for this!!!! and it made my day!!! thank you to the beautiful Olivia!!! I’ll hopefully be sharing an excerpt in my July recap 😉

I always click on a post from C.G. (Cait) @ Paper Fury knowing I’m coming out with heaps of amazing recs. I screenshot almost every one to go on my TBR. I also feel I have to mention more about her……. She comes out with regular posts too (what is it with this lack-of-school thing that seems to be the key to regular blogging) and I love her writing style so much! Her whole blog is so aesthetic too, and I love her voice so much. Could’ve talked about her above, but oh well. I’ll always get great recommendations from her.

Chana and Malka @ Paper Procrastinators have some of the best discussion posts and topics I’ve ever see. They are always so different to what I’ll see anywhere else, and it makes me so excited to be a part of them temporarily, a part of the community.

I love Ilsa @ A Whisper Of Ink‘s blog style. It’s just so…. pretty. It makes me want to read it on the actual website (something I can almost never remember to do) and I love it. Her blog has such great writing as well, to top it off. The pastel colours of it really appeal to me, I love it all so much. (She is also an amazing writer, has such lovely posts, and Ilsa is a lovely person too ❤ go check it out)

Once again, I’ve seen her nominated for this so many times already but I have to agree. Ju @ Paper Blots is hilariously witty and sassy, and she is an incredible example of what we all should aspire to have as a voice online. I love to read her posts…. and she is one of only a few people who I’ll fangirl about Gilmore Girls with. (Only a few because no-one I know has watched it <3)

cropped-screen-shot-2017-12-14-at-9-46-38-pm5.png100% May @ Forever and Everly for this one. Whenever I click onto a post they always seems to be showing off a book with marginalised characters or authors, and even better, intersectional rep. I know and trust that the book will be good if she’s liked it. Please check out their blog! Many of you may already know but she is just such a sweet person askfijijal

Lily @ Sprinkles Of Dreams is another amazing advocate for diverse books. She (like May above) will often ONLY champion diverse books, which I love and aspire to do. She also has a new planned project called Sprinkles of Diversity – where people can sign up to write a few sentences about diverse books they’ve read. Please check it out! ❤

Hmm, probably Anna + Charlotte @ Reads Rainbow. They have so many amazing recs together, post about as often as you can without everyone hating you for spamming up your inbox, and they only suggest diverse reads (hence the name, reads rainbow)

I’m thinking Olivia @ Purely Olivia for this, I have to say! I know I mentioned her earlier but she is just too amazing and deserves more attention. I love her blog so much and she worked so incredibly hard to get to where she is and I am so excited to see where she goes next.

I can’t choose. You are all too amazing and just. AAHHHH. I feel so happy to have met y’all and know you and be a part of this community. Thank you for welcoming me in, and I can’t wait to see your nominations ❤ They close on July 20th, so get them in before then! Everyone I mentioned here truly deserves to win this award, and so does everyone I didn’t mention.

so….. have you done this yet? it closes in 5 days so get those nominations in!!! 💖💖

i just realised i mentioned no male bloggers…. whoops? if you have any recs pls i want them

  1. Ah, Rhi! First of all, thank you so much for participating in the awards, and for writing such lovely things for every blogger. And second of all, thank you so much for nominating me for an award ; your words mean so much to happy (and you are so so sweet as well 💗). I don’t follow Chana and Malka, but I’ve heard so much about them through these awards and I’m definitely checking out their blogs when I have the time! But so many of the other people you nominated are my favorites 💕

  6. !!!!! Thank you so so much, Rhi!! We so so so appreciate it (although we are quite late to mention it). We have loved getting to know you and chat with you. And I know it was definitely a fear of ours when co-blogging that we somehow have merged into one voice, but that feels so epic that you’re able to tell between our voices. Thank you so so much again, Rhi!! ❤
