a wrap up pt. 2?! // ft. me flailing and occasionally being sentimental

Wow. It’s December 29th already. Where did time go?!

So… this is my first Saturday post using my new schedule, and I’m sadly NOT doing a Christmas haul. (But I will say this: Tombow. Dual. Brush. Pens. They came, and then I got some from my aunt AND I’M NOW OBSESSED.)

But I’m going to wrap up the year with some highlights!!

+ I started reading YA fiction.

This is quite possibly one of the best things to ever happen to me. There are so many amazing books and authors (hello Marie Lu, Jen Wilde, and so many more) and I’ve already discovered new favourites through this (Fan Art, The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls, Legend, etc). I’m super happy.

+ I started blogging.

Why this wasn’t at the top of my list who knows. Blogging has changed my life – for the better. I’ve met so many amazing people (May, Sydney, and Ella just to name a few!! I’ll be elaborating on this closer to my one-year anniversary too ๐Ÿ˜‰) and my writing and photography has gotten so much better. I can’t believe how welcoming everybody has been and how much I love it.

+ I got Invisalign.

And now my teeth feel like they could break like *that* whenever I take them out for more than a few hours. It has been relatively painless however – I’m not envying those who have regular braces!

Well, that’s a lot of my year. Invisalign, reading, and blogging. Yep. That sums it up. I do hope you enjoyed this post – and have a happy new year!

do you have invisalign? // when did you start blogging?

  1. I started blogging this year, too. I also got brush pens for Christmas and they are so amazing!!! It’s like… you can paint with them, and you can letter with them, and the colors are so pretty, and they’re great for illustrating clothes and word art…
I don’t have invisalign, but I have regular braces. I like that I don’t have to take them out to clean them, but it can be a pain to get things stuck in them.
    Wonderful post! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Cool! When?
They are!! Did you get Tombow ones too? Iโ€™m looking for any excuse to use them!!
Ahh – it can be a bit of a pain to clean them and then occasionally I crack them in two *almost every time* but I can still eat whatever, so definitely a plus side!!
      Thanks for commenting Grace!!!! x

          1. This is sort of off topic, but are you still doing the “Be Featured” thing? I think it’s a really cool idea and filled out the form, but I just want to make sure you’re still doing it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Nice graphics! I have clear braces, I wish I would’ve been able to get invisalign, but I couldn’t get them because apparently they wouldn’t work for my situation, ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Great post Rhi!! ๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™ve been blogging for nearly 3 months now, so I think Iโ€™m still a newbie! ๐Ÿ’› It doesnโ€™t feel like it though, how like far everybody has come in such a short time. YA are definitely books everybody should at least try! Iโ€™ve got Fangirl on my cupboard waiting to be read!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (When Iโ€™m older I want a library…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) Dream on, Amber.

    1. Thanks Amber!!! Yeah – but then again I think Iโ€™M still new so… ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ! I know – Iโ€™ve written over 100 posts!
They really are – the authors I mentioned above especially. I want a bookstore with rolling ladders – that sure isnโ€™t happening though!!! xx

      1. Oh my god yasss gurl! I love the rolling ladders – they are so retro and cool! ๐Ÿ’› Maybe thatโ€™s going to be our goal in life ๐Ÿ˜‚ Wow, 100 posts is a lot, thatโ€™s really good! ๐Ÿ˜Š Can totally relate to the bookstore ๐Ÿ˜‚ Maybe everybody is a newbie to blogging, because we are always discovering new things. Just a thought.

          1. Yep, that was deep, even from me ๐Ÿ˜‚ My friends think Iโ€™m a really deep person p, they call me a โ€˜moralistโ€™, itโ€™s because Iโ€™m always coming out with deep phrases ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†

  4. Oohhh it’s interesting that you’ve got invisalign! I’ve got regular braces and while they do hurt sometimes, the best part for me is picking out what colour I want my bands to be every time i get them tightened! So glad you have been enjoying blogging xx

  5. Congrats on a wonderful year!๐Ÿ’˜I’m so glad you’ve started blogging this year, because otherwise I wouldn’t be here, commenting, and we wouldn’t get to obsess over books + Gilmore Girls together. XD Here’s to a wonderful 2019!

  6. Hi, Rhi! This is sort of off topic, but another blogger and I are considering doing a collab post together about books. How do you make a password protected page to do a collab post? That seems like a really nice way of doing it, and if you’re willing to share how your collabs work, we’d really appreciate it! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. This went into spam!!! WordPress why?!
Oh of course!! So I set up a site page and then in ‘settings’ where it says ‘public’ on the first little drop down thingy you click on that and can set a password!! I have a contact form on my blog as well for people to set a passcode. If you’d like an explanation for how to do it on the app I can tell you as well since that’s my primary blogging platform!!! If you have any more questions please let me know xxx

    1. Aww, thank you May!! Yes, Iโ€™m getting so many amazing recommendations from the book blogging community, and itโ€™s wonderful!! Lucky I got so many book vouchers for Christmas ahaha!!! You most certainly are my friend, and itโ€™s my pleasure ๐Ÿ’œ You too xxx
